Major Internet service providers (ISPs), home networking equipment manufacturers, and web companies around the world are coming together to permanently enable IPv6 for their products and services.
In the year since World IPv6 Launch began on 6 June 2012, global use of IPv6 has more than doubled. 2013 marks the third straight year IPv6 use on the global Internet has doubled. If current trends continue, more than half of Internet users around the world will be IPv6-connected in less than 6 years.

Organized by the Internet Society, and building on the successful one-day World IPv6 Day event held on 8 June 2011, World IPv6 Launch represents a major milestone in the global deployment of IPv6. As the successor to the current Internet Protocol, IPv4, IPv6 is critical to the Internet's continued growth as a platform for innovation and economic development.
Major Internet service providers (ISPs), home networking equipment manufacturers, and web companies around the world united to redefine the global Internet and permanently enable IPv6 for their products and services on 6 June 2012. Since then, participation in World IPv6 Launch and use of IPv6 around the world has continued to grow.
We welcome everyone to spread the word and follow along. We also encourage Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to register as a participant if you are enabling IPv6 for your customers.
Whether you are a participating web company, ISP, or home router vendor – or just a forward-thinking citizen of the modern Internet – join the cause and spread the word. See what current participants are saying.
